VOLUNTEERS are wanted to help out at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Leyburn.
Richmondshire District Council, which runs the centre, is appealing for volunteers as the busy summer season approaches.

Centre manager Joy Healy said: “Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common – they are passionate about Leyburn. Whether you know the area like the back of your hand, or you simply enjoy meeting new people, we’d love to hear from you.”

Volunteers give advice about local events and attractions, and help out with accommodation enquiries and bookings. Help is particularly required at weekends, although there a few spare morning and afternoon shifts that also need filling.

For an informal chat about volunteering, telephone Joy at Leyburn TIC on 01748 828747.
