Pinkney half century helps Thornton to their first points

A HALF century from Simon Pinkney against Rugby Club helped Thornton-le-Moor gain their first points of the season in the Sam Turner and Sons Northallerton and District Evening Cricket League.
Thanks to John Robinson (28), George Kay (29) and Andy McQuaker (26), Rugby Club made a respectable 133–3 as Tom Stead claimed 3-29 for the visitors.

In reply, 16-year-old Sam Lindley (31no) and Pinkney’s fine unbeaten 61 fired Moor to an eight-w
icket win with 11 balls to spare.

Northallerton visited South Kilvington looking for their second victory of the season and batting first they made 139 – 5 through John Gregory (40no) and John Shanks (39).

For Kilvington James Thompson (2-35) and Martin Chapman (2-22) were the leading wicket takers.

When the home side replied opener Ray Windross (34) continued his recent good run of form but despite Andy Carver (20 no) adding some late boundaries at the end of their innings they closed 16 runs short on 123–7.

Andy Davison (2-32) and Stuart Watson (2-29) both bowled well for the visitors.

Other results: Leake (91-5 (Daniel Magee 33, Noel Colings 3-26) Ingleby Cross 92-5; Silton 116-6 (Joe Clarkson 53no, Aaron Ramsbotton 3-23) East Harlsey 61ao (Paul Nicholson 5-10).

Hodgson Cup semi final: Leake 126-3, East Harlsey 103-7; Rugby Club 24ao Silton knocked them off for the loss of three wickets.
